Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services.  Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

On the above date our representative was on site to observe the paving contractor continue subbase preparation at Phase 1A and 1B and also at Nature Walk Parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #6 and 9. The contractor fine graded subbase stone wetting and compacted in place base stone.

The grading contractor also continued subgrade preparation at Nature Walk Parkway between sanitary sewer manholes #10 and 11 undercutting approximately 8″ to 12″of rocky subgrade materials in-place. The underlying subgrade materials are residual from blast rock and should be suitable for subbase stone placement without additional undercut if base rock is placed in a timely manner preventing surface materials from drying out causing loose surface silts. Also, equipment and truck traffic should be limited across this area prior to placing base stone.
