Observations/Finding

As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.

Designated locations for coring were marked and core drilling operations were performed using a core cutter at each selected joint location. After drilling, the core samples were carefully removed, measured for joint width and thickness, labeled for identification, and documented for reporting purposes. The drilled holes were then cleaned using compressed air to remove loose debris and dust. After cleaning, foam backer rod and silicone sealant were installed, and all openings were sealed following completion of the coring activities.

A total of 18 cores were obtained from various locations across the project area. Of these, 17 cores were taken from construction joints and 1 core was taken from an expansion joint.
