Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
Crew 1 – Temporary Pond (Between Lots 23 & 24)
Observed ongoing excavation of saturated material at the temporary pond location between Lots 23 and 24. Wet soil was being removed to a depth of approximately 6–8′ and spread across the adjacent lots to allow it to dry out before further use. Hauling and spreading of the wet material to the drying area was confirmed in progress at the time of the visit.
Crew 2 – Manhole CB8.6 to CB8.7 / CB8.7 to CB8.8
At CB8.6 to CB8.7, 24″ HDPE pipe installation was complete of length 49′. Backfill had been placed over the pipe and compaction was underway using a trench compactor along the pipe alignment. At CB8.7 to CB8.8, the trench had been excavated to the required depth, and installation of 18″ RCP of length 120′ was in progress. The joint between the pipe and the structure was being sealed/grouted. Following placement, fill material was placed and compacted around the pipe using a jumping jack compactor.
Crew 3 – Manhole CB10.3 to CB10.4 / CB10.4 to CB11.1
At CB10.3 to CB10.4, 30″ HDPE pipe was already installed of length 81′ and No. 57 stone placed around and over the pipe. At CB10.4 to CB11.1, of 18″ RCP of length 27′ had been installed and backfilled with soil. Compaction was being carried out using a jumping jack compactor for the pipe zone and a trench compactor for the upper lifts.
