Observations/Finding

On the above date the writer was onsite as requested and observed the Curbing contractor begin pouring curbing (type 2) at roadway to culdesac at Seven Hills phase 13 until curbing machine broke and pour ended.The contractor continued pouring sidewalk on Seven Hills Boulevard.

The writer also assisted in observing concrete placement at bridge cart path ,raised island and north side curbing.Also observing installation of tension rods attached to dead man footing wall.

The writer also observed the Paving contractor( NWGP) continue sub grade prep.at Nature Walk Pkwy.end of Phase 1.The sub grade was clipped an extra -4″ to removed saturated sub grade soils as recommended.The contractor placed additional base stone that was clipped from existing sub base previous placed.Also performed additional density checks on in place binder asphalt mix at Nature Walk pkwy.intersection to Phase 1B and 1B roadway.The writer also set up a meeting with NWGP asphalt group to discuss discrepancies at previous placed asphalt binder mix.Several density check readings were below a required compaction effort of 92% based on an estimated theoretical value of 154.0 No actual value was provided.Readings:142.5,140.6.151.2,144.8,137.4,133.2,130.4,127.7 and 141.6.

The writer also observed the Grading contractor continue hammering residual rock at building lots.
