Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative was onsite to observe the grading contractor continue placing fill for the south side of Lots #33 and 34. It was recommended after probing the existing subgrade (using a rounded end steel rod which appeared stable and suitable for additional fill placement) using imported residual soils from across the creek instead of onsite clipped materials from lots having large amounts of grass. It was also recommended to continue blading and compacting the north side of lots to lower moisture content prior to placing additional fill.
The writer also observed the pipe contractor Savannah begin installing 8″ ductile iron water line across Plantation gas lines which was double wrapped using a 8 mil LLDPE material. The installation was observed by the Plantation Gas official. The writer also observed backfilling of water lines installed over gas lines where compacting efforts were limited due to vibrations over the gas lines. The compaction efforts were probed and estimated at 91% to 92% behind curb lines which should be sufficient for grass area.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
