Daily Field Report
Observations/Finding
As requested, the site was visited by our AS Engineering and Consulting (ASEC) representative for the purpose of providing quality control inspection and testing services. Visual observation techniques were employed to verify compliance with project drawing/specifications, applicable codes, and materials submittals. The following observations were observed on site this day.
On the above date our representative observed proof-rolling of subbase stone at the roundabout tie-in to the Nature Walk bridge with members from the paving contractor and Paulding County. The proof-roll was observed using a loaded tandem dump truck. The subbase appeared stable under traffic with no apparent severe movement. The subbase was approved for curbing placement and asphalt paving.
The writer also observed fill placement and performed density tests at Unit 4, Phase 3 using a Troxler Nuclear gauge model 3430, serial no. 91643.
The curbing contractor also continued installing inlet throats at the Unit 4, Phase 2 main drive. The writer observed a total of ten tops with reinforcing in place according to specifications for size, spacing and quantity. The contractor poured nine tops today.
The writer observed the pipe contractor Savannah continue installing 24″ RCP storm line between structures B 5.1 and B 5.2. Compaction results were in compliance with project specifications.
We appreciate the opportunity to be of service to you on this project. If you have any questions regarding this report, please feel free to contact us. We will be more than happy to discuss it with you.
